Byington offers a stunning, 95-acre, wine-experience getaway with expansive views of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey Bay, and Pinot Noir vineyards, just minutes from Silicon Valley. We craft award-winning wines in an 18,000-square-foot villa that houses winemaking facilities, wine cave, tasting room, and elegant event facilities. Los Altos Tasting Room opened on Main Street in summer 2017.

We welcome the public to join us for Wine Experiences on Fridays from 1pm until 6pm, and Saturdays starting from noon until 6pm, and Sundays, from noon to 5pm (with the last tastings commencing an hour before closing). We offer a Wine Tasting all three days, and a Wine Tour & Tasting with 3 tour times on Saturdays by reservation. We have a limited amount of space for walk-in guests, so we strongly recommend reservations. With any of these experiences, guests are invited to enjoy our hiking trail or Bocce ball court. See below for more details.

A gourmet cheese and charcuterie board is available for additional purchase if desired. While a limited number of "walk-ins" are available, reservations are highly recommended. This experience may be reserved for parties of up to 8 guests. This experience is $25 per guest and complimentary for each Wine Club Member + 3 guests.

The Trail at Byington starts at the Tasting Room double doors. Enjoy unsurpassed views of beauty and depth of Santa Cruz Mountains. The trail descends at moderate grade through mixed woodland and chaparral, looping back. It is 2.2 miles in length (see map for shorter loop) with a 365 feet change in elevation, taking 45 to 90 minutes to complete. Trail Hours are noon to 5 pm when we are open to the public on Saturday & Sunday and some Holidays (and for Corporate Events Monday to Friday). Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Leashed pets are welcome on the trail. For more information please visit see the trail map here: Trail Map

Dog Policy

Leashed dogs are welcome at Byington outdoors and inside the Tasting Room. Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted on the Wine Tour, elsewhere inside, or on the Crush Pad due to FDA restrictions. Pet owners must pick up after their dogs and prevent them from using the front lawns and Wedding Hill lawn. Leashed dogs are welcome on the Hiking Trail.

Many wineries limit guests to 21 and older. While children are allowed on the grounds at Byington, this is an adult wine experience. Children must be seated with and supervised by a parent at all times and may not disturb the adult wine tasting experience.

We are open on the following national holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. We are CLOSED on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

If you are looking for a wonderful wine tasting experience and tour, I highly recommend taking the drive to Byington. I took a group of 10 people on a wine tour and Byington was, by far, the favorite of everyone. Yes, there are lots of wineries to choose from in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but if you want a great selection of wines, friendly and knowledgeable staff, a tour that is both educational and entertaining and fantastic views... Byington has it all.
